Great Utility Program for Resizing Photos

Resizing digital photos can be extremely tedious, but there is a nifty little utility called iResize that makes quick work of resizing a batch of photographs to fit the image size you want. I had in mind a need for something when I wanted to transfer photo files to my iPod, which has a screen resolution of 320 x 240. Of course I could manually resize each image in Photoshop CS2 but that would be pain.

A note on Lockergnome prompted me to take a look at this 1.55M download, which allowed me to load 105 images, and then convert them to the proper size in matter of a few seconds, outputting them to a folder so that my iPod would automatically load them at the next update.

Using iResize, you can save the resulting images into different image formats (jpg, bmp, tiff, png, and gif). If you have a wide screen monitor (or a laptop equipped with one), and want to convert a 4:3 wallpaper into the 16:9 image resolution, this is easily done by simply checking on the “Wide” option and choosing the target resolution (1280 x 800, for instance).

This program does require the .NET 2.0 framework be installed in your computer.

Here’s where to get the program:
